CWSA - UMZINTO, YEARLY CHARITY FAIR



The yearly Charity Fair aids the organisation to sustain its child protection services . The community of Umzinto and surrounding areas look forward to this much needed yearly entertainment. It is a service to the community. Child protection awareness programmes are held, including services of many other government departments and non governmental organisations are promoted at the fair. A mammoth undertaking by this management, a collective approach by its board and members. Over 100 persons are involved in the year long planning.
Next Charity Fair will be held on 10, 11, 12 July 2009 at the Scottburgh Country Club Sportsfield. For further information, please call Collin at 039 -9741872.

HABIBA KARA, in pink is the chairman for the past 2 years. She has been on the board for the past 7 years.
A vibrant,committed go-getter. She is thanked for her dedication.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT, DECEMBER 2008

Gertrude Lushaba, re-elected on KZN, Provincial Board thanks staff of the region at the joint staff development and end of year get together. Mrs. Lushaba is one of the founding members of CWSA - Umzumbe in the 1980's. A highly committed volunteer

The final staff development session focused on Crises Intervention Management - Child Abuse and Neglect.

Venue: CWSA - UMZINTO. Participating organisations that are in receipt of " DIRECT" supervision of their professional staff from CWSA are:

  1. CWSA - VULAMEHLO ( 3 staff)
  2. CWSA - UMZINTO ( 3 staff)
  3. CWSA -EKUBUSISWENI (3 staff)
  4. CWSA- UMZUMBE (2 staff)
  5. CWSA - EZINQOLENI (2 staff)
  6. CWSA -UMZIMKULU (2 staff)

The staff development session ended on a good note. Each staff received a small gift. However, due to financial constraints of CWSA and its affiliates, each staff member was requested to purchase a gift for R20.00 or less.CWSA and its affiliates contributed towards catering.

AFFILIATES ARE THANKED FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND CO-OPERATION .

CHAIRMAN - KZN PROVINCIAL BOARD - MR.A.D. RAMASAR

Mr. Ramasar who is a member of the management committee of CWSA Umzinto was chairperson of the organisation for a period in excess of 20 years. An outstanding commitment to community service. In addition, he rendered voluntary services to Child Welfare in South Africa for the past 35 years. Mr. Ramasar is the present chairman of CWSA, KZN Provincial Board. He is the Board's official representative on CWSA National Board.Mr. Ramasar also assisted the CWSA National Board with amendments to the CWSA Constitution in 2004 and the CWSA Membership Regulations, subsequently.
